GuisoN CARVALHO AND JosE DONATO PRO5PERO T HIS IS A report of a girl who exhibited a rare type of alteration in the granulation pattern of the white cells from the peripheral blood, bone marrow and spleen, similar to that described by B#{233}guez C#{233}sar ( 1943),’ Steinbrinck ( 1948 ) ,2 Chediak ( 1952 ),3 Botur#{227}o ( 1953), Higashi ( 1954 ),5 Donohue and Bain ( 1957 ),#{176}and Maggi et al. ( 1957) . Efrati and Jonas ( 1958 ) 8 observed a case showing in addition to the leukocytic anomaly, a leukemic blood picture. The descriptive name “anomalous panleukocytic granulation” is adopted in this paper to mean that atypical granules were found in every class of leukocyte, although these granules were not identical in their morphology and nature.

Giant arachnoid granulations (AG) can mimic intracranial lesions. Knowledge of these structures can help avoid misdiagnosis when interpreting imaging. Here, we report a child who presented with a mass within the superior sagittal sinus and an anomalous draining vein. Herein, the diagnosis of a giant AG was made. Clinicians who view or interpret imaging of the head should be aware of these anato...

Preliminary Finding on Anomalous Cleavage and Degeneration of Intestinal Nematode Eggs (Nematodirus sp.) after Oral Administration of Medium-Chain Fatty Acid in Calves

Medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) consisting of 8 to 12 carbons are knowns exhibit antimicrobial activity against bacteria and gut protozoa. However, little information is available on their effect in helminthes. The effect of MCFA on an intestinal nematode (Nematodirus sp.) was therefore evaluated in four calves (4 to 11 month old). Edible fat containing MCFA was administered into the abomasum ...
